A Best TH5 Base main purpose is to protect your town hall and resources. Usually, people will put their most expensive elixir buildings in the core of the base, with less valuable or more static defense-oriented buildings outside (though this isn’t always true). The very best th5 bases are like Swiss cheese – filled with holes that make it difficult to get to the core of the base.
There are two main things at town hall 5 that you need protection from: high level giants and wizards. Giants will take out buildings quickly, but they may not reach the town hall. Wizards will reach the town hall, but can be killed by many defenses easily if there aren’t many.

As stated above, this layer of wall is for slowing down giants trying to reach the core. It will not protect your core from high level troops, but it will make it take an extra few seconds which can save your defenses or your town hall if you have a well orchestrated defense around the base.

The gold storage’s are right in between two walls, which means they will be difficult to reach from either side. This makes it easier to protect them and also to make sure there aren’t any areas where troops can slip through and get to them.

They’re a bit more exposed than the gold storage since there is a layer of wall between them and the core, so they should be some of your first buildings to upgrade to level 7.
They will be attacked first if a hog rider is trying to get through the core of your base because they are so close. If there’s a giant threat, these should be one of your last buildings to upgrade since this layer of wall can slow them down and give you more time to react.
TH5 Defense Base
This base is designed to protect your town hall and trophies. The Town Hall is in the center of the core, which makes it difficult for a hog rider to get to it with many buildings in between.
There are very few places for a hog or giant to get through from outside your walls, but if they do, they’ll have to go far out of their way to get around them. The traps are placed so that they will either block hogs from getting through, or won’t trigger until the hog has passed them so you don’t lose any dps.
Town Hall 5 Base Anti Everything
This base is designed to protect your town hall and resources. There are only a few layers of wall protecting your town hall, so it can be difficult to stop hogs from getting through.
The traps are placed down to protect the gold storage’s and elixir collector’s, so if there is a hog threat, they will do minimal damage. This base is best for protecting resources in gold and elixir that you want to keep safe, but there is no need to protect the town hall.

This base is designed to protect your town hall, resources, and trophies. Everything in the core of the base is located in between 2 layers of wall so hogs will not be able to get through.
If there is a hog rider attacking your base, the trap can activate and suddenly you have two layers of wall protecting your core instead of one. There are many different layers of traps so there’s more dps against hogs or giants. This base is best for protecting your loot.
